The traveller's contract
Terms of Service
These Terms describe what Lanely does, what it does not do, and how we behave to one another. Lanely is an AI content generator — not a travel agency, booking platform, or insurance broker.
Effective 2026-05-07 · Governing law England and Wales
"What am I actually agreeing to?"
These Terms form a binding contract between you and CARROLL SERVICES LIMITED (trading as Lanely). They cover the use of the Lanely website, workspace, and outputs (AI-generated itineraries, charts, stamp animations, and reels). By creating an account or using Lanely you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the AI Disclaimer, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Refund Policy, the Cookie Policy, and the Content License.
"What is Lanely, and what is it not?"
- Lanely is a software service that uses AI to generate multi-day travel itineraries (text + charts) and short cinematic reels.
- Lanely is not a travel agency, tour operator, online travel platform, flight or hotel reseller, visa or immigration adviser, travel insurance broker, or custodian of travel funds. We do not handle bookings, payments to suppliers, or customer money.
- You are responsible for booking, paying, and verifying details with the relevant airlines, hotels, transport operators, embassies, insurance brokers, and government agencies.
"Who can use Lanely?"
You must be at least 18 years old, capable of forming a binding contract under your local law, and not on a sanctions or denied-parties list applicable to England and Wales or to our payment processor. You may not use Lanely if you are barred from receiving software services under UK, EU, or US law.
"How does my subscription work?"
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the price displayed at checkout. We email reminders seven days and one day before each renewal.
- By starting to use the service immediately upon purchase, you give your express consent under Regulation 37(1)(a) of the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content. Full mechanics in the Refund Policy.
- Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access until that date.
- Plan upgrades take effect immediately and we prorate the difference. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period.
- Plan credits expire at the end of each month. Top-up credit packs do not expire and remain refundable for 30 days for unused balance.
- Refund eligibility is described in full in the Refund Policy.
"Who owns the outputs?"
You own the itineraries, charts, stamp animations, and reels you generate, subject to the terms of the Content License. We retain a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to host, store, and display your outputs as needed to provide the service. We do not publish your outputs without your consent.
"Are the outputs accurate?"
AI outputs are estimates derived from public data. Travel times, opening hours, prices, weather windows, and visa rules change without notice. You must verify with official sources — airline websites, embassy pages, government travel advisories — before you commit money or travel. See the AI Disclaimer for the full caveats.
"What can I not do with Lanely?"
See the Acceptable Use Policy. In short: no unlawful activity, no minors travelling internationally without a guardian, no content that promotes travel to sanctioned regions, no resale as a travel-agency service unless you are a licensed agent acting within your licence, and no impersonation of others.
"How do you change these Terms?"
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email and on the website at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not accept the change you may cancel and request a refund of any unused, paid period and unused top-up credits.
"What is your liability?"
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to Lanely is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost itineraries, missed flights, denied entry, lost bookings, currency loss, or third-party costs.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for: (a) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (b) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (c) breach of the statutory rights conferred on consumers by the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, including Sections 34 (digital content of satisfactory quality), 35 (digital content fit for purpose), 36 (digital content as described); or (d) any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
"Which law governs this contract?"
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their habitual-residence jurisdiction where local law requires.
"How do you record my acceptance of these Terms?"
Acceptance of these Terms is logged at sign-up with a timestamp, the IP address you accepted from, your user-agent, and a hash of the version of the Terms shown to you. These records may be presented as evidence in any chargeback, dispute, or regulatory proceeding via the formats requested by our payment processor.
