Cookie Policy
Lanely runs a deliberately small cookie set. This page lists every cookie we set, why we set it, and how to refuse the optional ones.
Effective 2026-05-07 · Governing law England and Wales
"What are these cookies and why do you set them?"
Cookies and similar storage (localStorage, sessionStorage) are tiny pieces of data your browser stores so the site can remember you between requests. Lanely keeps the set deliberately minimal.
"Which cookies are strictly necessary?"
- auth_session — keeps you signed in. Cleared on logout. First-party. 12-month max lifetime.
- csrf_token — protects against cross-site request forgery on form submissions and Stripe checkout. Session-only.
- lanely.cookie-consent.v1 — remembers your cookie-banner choice so we do not nag you. 12-month lifetime.
"Which cookies are optional?"
- analytics_id — anonymous, sampled product analytics so we can spot where users get stuck. We use a privacy-respecting tool (no IP storage, no fingerprinting). 13-month lifetime. Off by default until you accept.
- preview_referrer — when you arrive via a campaign link, we record the campaign tag for one session only. Off until you accept. Session-only.
"Do you set advertising or tracking cookies?"
No. We do not run third-party ad pixels, do not place Facebook / TikTok / Google Ads tracking pixels, and do not sell visitor data. The only third party that drops cookies on a Lanely page is Stripe, when you use the checkout flow — Stripe sets its own anti-fraud cookies which are described in Stripe's cookie policy.
"How do I opt out?"
- Use the cookie banner — click Essential only to refuse the optional analytics.
- Use your browser's built-in cookie controls to block or clear cookies entirely.
- Use the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — we honour GPC as a refusal of the optional cookies.
"What about Do-Not-Track?"
Do-Not-Track (DNT) is honoured the same way as GPC. If your browser sends DNT or GPC, we treat it as a refusal of the optional analytics cookies. The strictly-necessary cookies remain because the site cannot work without them.
"How do I change my mind?"
You can reopen the cookie banner at any time via Settings → Privacy → Cookie Preferences (a link is also available in the site footer). Withdrawing consent is designed to be exactly as easy as giving it, in line with UK ICO 2023 cookie guidance and PECR Regulation 6. As a fallback, clearing the lanely.cookie-consent.v1 key from your browser storage and reloading will reset all choices.
